Arsenal remain locked in talks to sign promising 21-year-old attacker – report
Arsenal are still in discussions with AS Monaco about the possibility of signing Thomas Lemar this summer, according to reports
Arsenal are still holding talks with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco about a potential deal to sign Thomas Lemar, according to reports in France.
Transfer Market Web, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Gunners are hoping to complete a deal to sign the France international.
However, Arsenal are aware that the Ligue 1 champions are reluctant to sell the attacking midfielder following the departures of Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The Gunners have already spent a club record fee on Alexandre Lacazette this summer after the Lyon striker completed a £52m move to the Emirates Stadium earlier this month.
Arsenal have also signed Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac in a free transfer from Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 last month.
The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a place in the Champions League.
However, Arsene Wenger did finish the season on a high after Arsenal were 2-1 winners against defending champions Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The Arsenal boss was rewarded with a two-year contract extension.
