Gareth Bale has insisted that he is paying no attention to the speculation linking him with a possible transfer from Real Madrid to Manchester United this summer.

The Wales international is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top attacking talents and he moved to Spain from Tottenham back in the summer of 2013.

Bale endured a frustrating season last term as he struggled with injuries but made a late appearance during the Champions League final win over Juventus last month.

The former Spurs star has been touted as a possible target for Manchester United in the past – but the attacker insists that he is not paying any attention to that speculation.

Bale is quoted as telling Spanish newspaper Marca: “The truth is that I do not read any of that. Logically I am a British player and I am always linked with a return home.

“Nothing new. I am happy playing in Madrid, logically interest is interest, but if there has been nothing concrete, no offer, there is nothing to discuss.”

Manchester United are thought to still be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Jose Mourinho prepares for his second campaign in charge at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have so far only signed defender Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku as Mourinho gears his team up for a return to the Champions League.
