Chelsea in talks to sign 25-year-old Brazilian – report
Chelsea are in talks to sign defender Danilo from Real Madrid but have yet to settle on a fee, say reports
Chelsea are in talks to sign Danilo but are yet to agree a fee with Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper Marca, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Blues have made a £28m bid for the Brazilian full-back, but that Real Madrid are holding out for a fee closer to £30.8m (€35m).
It is claimed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is not willing to pay that much for the 25-year-old right-back, who has been linked with the Premier League champions in recent days.
The same report states that Chelsea are prepared to play the “long game” in the transfer and hope that Real Madrid will eventually agree to a lower fee.
Antonio Conte is thought to be keen to bolster his options at full-back as he prepares for his second season in charge at the west London club.
Conte led the Blues to the Premier League title last season but will need a bigger squad next term as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League.
The west London side missed out on the FA Cup when they lost to Arsenal in the final back in May.
