New Chelsea signing sends message to fans about Antonio Conte

Tiemoue Bakayoko reveals his delight at signing a five-year contract with Chelsea over the weekend

Tiemoue Bakayoko has revealed his delight at signing for Chelsea and says he can’t wait to start working under the “fantastic” Antonio Conte.

The midfielder was finally confirmed as a Blues player on Saturday after weeks of speculation linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Bakayoko signed a five-year contract with the west London side on Saturday and he will wear the number 14 shirt at Chelsea as he bids to help the Blues retain their Premier League title next season.

And the France international revealed his delight at having joined the Blues in his first interview sign signing for the west London side.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Bakayoko said: “I am very happy to be here and to join this great team.

“I have grown up watching Chelsea. Signing was the natural thing for me because it is a club I loved very much in my childhood.

“I am now looking forward to evolving under this fantastic coach and alongside so many great team-mates.”

Bakayoko becomes Chelsea third signing of the summer after the arrivals of both Willy Caballero and Antonio Rudiger.

The Blues are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after their impressive Premier League title triumph last term.

Conte will be likely to want to further bolster his squad ahead of next season.
