Antonio Conte sends message to Cesc Fabregas during Chelsea meeting – report
Antonio Conte has reportedly informed Cesc Fabregas that he will have a more regular role at Chelsea next season
Antonio Conte has promised Cesc Fabregas a more regular role in the Chelsea first team next season, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that Conte recently held a meeting with the 30-year-old Spaniard to try and convince him to stay at Stamford Bridge and to reassure him that he will feature more regularly next term.
The same story says that Conte held a meeting with Fabregas to reassure him about his role in the team, and also admitted that he should have played more last season.
The article claims that, with Chelsea back in the Champions League next season, Conte sees Fabregas as a “key member” of his Blues squad.
Fabregas found his first-team opportunities to be limited last season following Conte’s appointment but still impressed whenever called upon, scoring five goals and making 12 assists in the Premier League.
The former Arsenal captain was however limited to just 13 starts in the Premier League as the Blues won the title in Conte’s first campaign at the club.
Chelsea confirmed their third signing of the summer last weekend when they announced a deal to land midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco.
