Jurgen Klopp sends message to Chelsea fans ahead of next season
Jurgen Klopp warns Chelsea that the Blues could struggle to cope in four competitions next season
Jurgen Klopp has warned Chelsea that the English champions could struggle to cope with the rigours of European football next season.
The Blues enjoyed a season without the distraction of European affairs last term as Antonio Conte led the west London side to the Premier League title in his first campaign at the club.
Like Liverpool, the west London side were free to concentrate solely on domestic affairs as they secured the Premier League title in impressive fashion.
Chelsea will make a return to the Champions League next season, while Liverpool are also set for a run in Europe’s elite club competition.
And Klopp has suggested that Chelsea will find it harder next term as they look to try to compete on four fronts in Conte’s second campaign in charge at the club.
Klopp is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail: “The Europa League was hard [for Manchester United last season].
“Yes, Chelsea will feel also the difference, they played something like 13 players last season.
“But it’s also not my problem if they use only 11, well done. I do not want to be part of this – I am not interested.”
Liverpool must navigate their way through the final round of qualifying next month to secure their place in the group stage of Europe’s elite club competition.
