The west London club have been linked with a host of attacking players this summer but have yet to really strengthen in that area.
Chelsea confirmed their third signing of the summer on Saturday when they concluded a deal to bring midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko to Stamford Bridge from Monaco.
The Blues have also landed goalkeeper Willy Caballero and defender Antonio Rudiger ahead of the new season.
However, it is thought that the west London side are still on the lookout for a new striker as they prepare for Conte’s second season in charge at the club.
Diego Costa’s future has been a relentless source of speculation and both Aubameyang and Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata have been touted as possible targets.
And former Chelsea star Desailly says he would love to see Chelsea sign the Borussia Dortmund star this summer.
Desailly is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “Morata, does he fit really? Does he hold the ball, does he have the speed of projection he is asking for? So it is a blow for him really.
“For me, Aubameyang will be the best player to adapt for the Conte system.
“Or, maybe let’s sit down with Diego Costa and bring him back in the system.”
