N’Golo Kante proved himself as the best player in the Premier League with Chelsea last season, according to Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Kante earned huge amounts of praise last season after signing for Chelsea from Leicester City following Antonio Conte’s appointment at the club last year.

The French international produced stellar displays in central midfield for the Blues as Chelsea won the Premier League title in Conte’s first season in charge of the club.

Kante’s displays did not go unnoticed by his peers, who voted him as the PFA player of the year following his brilliant performances for the west London side.

And Bakayoko, who became Chelsea’s third signing of the summer when he penned a five-year contract with the Blues on Saturday, admits that he cannot wait to line up with his international team-mate at club level.

Bakayoko is quoted as saying by Metro: “N’Golo has proved it all. He was the best player in the Premier League last season in the middle of the pitch and that is not easy.

“To play alongside him would be something very good for me and it can help me progress.

“I’ve played a match with him for the French national team so we know each other very well and I hope we can do beautiful things together this year.”

Chelsea are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after their impressive Premier League title triumph last term.
