Chelsea have made a £22m offer to sign Real Madrid defender Danilo, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Don Balon is reporting that the Blues have put a £22m (€25m) offer on the table to try and lure the 25-year-old to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The same report claims that Chelsea are likely to face competition from Italian side Juventus for the signature of the defender this summer.

The story also says that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is keen to recover most of the £28m the Spanish club paid to sign him from Porto in 2015.

Antonio Conte is likely to want to bolster his defensive options this summer ahead of his team’s return to the Champions League next season.

The Chelsea boss has already seen John Terry and Nathan Ake leave the club this summer to limit his options in defence.

Conte is gearing up for his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge and is likely to demand significant reinforcements ahead of the start of the 2017-18 campaign.
