Antonio Conte sends message to Chelsea fans about Eden Hazard and new signing
Antonio Conte delivers the latest news on Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko's returns to action for Chelsea
Antonio Conte has insisted that Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko are both working hard on their roads to recovery from injury.
Hazard has been out of action since the start of the summer after suffering a broken ankle while on international duty with Belgium and having to undergo surgery to correct the problem.
Bakayoko, meanwhile, has been training at Cobham with Hazard as he looks to shake off the minor knee problem which prevented him from travelling on Chelsea’s pre-season tour.
The French midfielder will be hoping to be fit for the start of the Premier League season after arriving at Chelsea from Monaco earlier this month.
Now, Conte has stressed the importance of the duo getting back fit as soon as possible and says they are progressing well.
Conte is quoted as saying by Metro: “When you arrive from a bad injury, after surgery, it’s not easy to programme an exact date to come back.
“They are recovering very well and everybody knows the importance of them. Every single player must be in the best form to play.
“Otherwise we risk putting the player in a bad position and then to have damage for the team.”
The Italian manager is preparing his team for a return to the Champions League next season after they won the title in his first campaign in charge at the club.
