Alvaro Morata makes ‘amazing’ prediction about Chelsea ahead of the new season
The Chelsea striker believes he has found the "perfect situation" at the Premier League champions following his big-money summer move
Alvaro Morata has warned Chelsea’s rivals that Antonio Conte’s side are poised to have an “amazing” season.
The Blues have already added four new players to their squad in the summer transfer window as Conte prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.
The Italian coach led Chelsea to Premier League title glory in their first season under Conte’s management, although the west London side lost 2-1 to bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final.
The Premier League champions have signed Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero, AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger and AS Monaco midfielder Timeoue Bakayoko.
Morata became Chelsea’s fourth signing of the summer when the 24-year-old centre-forward completed a reported £58m switch to Stamford Bridge from La Liga giants Real Madrid.
And the Spain international felt like the chance to move to Chelsea was the “perfect situation” for the ex-Juventus striker.
“I decided to play in the Premier League and I want to play in Antonio’s team,” Morata told Chelsea’s website.
“Now I need to work hard, score goals and to play well for the team. There are very good players here and I think we can do something amazing this year.
“It is hard to leave Madrid but it is not so hard when you come to a club like Chelsea, with these players and with this coach, and I think we can play against Real Madrid and Barcelona and win.”
Morata won two Serie A titles during his two-season stay in Turin before the Spanish forward was part of the Real Madrid side that lifted the La Liga crown and the Champions League last term.
