Antonio Conte is “desperate” to sign a centre-forward for Chelsea this summer but the Blues are not close to landing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the Italian manager is very keen to bring in attacking reinforcements this summer but, contrary to what has been reported last week, the Blues have not been offered Aubameyang by Borussia Dortmund.
The same report claims that Dortmund have not received any offers for Aubameyang so far despite the player having been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent days.
It is claimed that there has been no contact between Dortmund and Chelsea this summer about Aubameyang, although the German club are said to have told the Gabon international that his future must be resolved one way or the other by 24 July.
Chelsea are on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they prepare for their second season under Conte at Stamford Bridge.
The west London side won the title last term but missed out on the FA Cup when they were beaten by Arsenal in the final.
