The west London side confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that they had agreed a deal with Real Madrid to bring the 24-year-old to Stamford Bridge.
Morata is poised to become Chelsea’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko at Stamford Bridge.
The Spain international was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United but the door for a transfer to Chelsea opened up when the Red Devils ended up signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
And Conte has expressed his delight at Chelsea tying up a deal to bring Morata to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday morning, Conte said: “I think for sure he is good signing for us.
“Morata is a young player who has a lot of experience. He has played with Real Madrid and Juventus and has a lot of experience for the league and also in the Champions League.”
Chelsea are preparing for their Premier League title defence next season after their title triumph under Conte last term.
The west London side are also gearing up for a return to the Champions League next season after missing out last term.
