Antonio Conte has insisted that he is happy with how Alvaro Morata has adapted to life at Chelsea following his arrival at the club this month.

The 24-year-old forward became the west London side’s fourth signing of the summer when he penned a five-year contract with the Blues after weeks of speculation linking him with a switch from Real Madrid.

Morata has been getting to grips with life as a Chelsea player since joining up with his new team-mates on their pre-season tour of Singapore.

And Chelsea boss Conte has revealed that he has been impressed by how the Spain international has adapted to life with the Blues.

Conte is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “For sure he is working very well and is putting himself into the work these days.

“I think it is very good and working very well. It is important to have a bit of time to adapt to our philosophy of football.

“For sure I have seen great will from the player to find this very quickly.”

He added: “I’m pleased with the pre-season as I saw the right commitment from my players, they are working very well.

“It is great. It is a pleasure or me to see this.”

Morata will be hoping to help Chelsea defend their Premier League title next season after they lifted the trophy in his first campaign in charge at the club last term.

The Blues are also preparing to make a return to the Champions League next term after they missed out on a place in Europe last season.
