Chelsea given green light to make 30-year-old their fifth signing – report
Chelsea have been cleared to sign Antonio Candreva from Inter Milan this summer, according to reports
Chelsea have been cleared to sign Antonio Candreva from Inter Milan this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Italian website Calciomercato, as quoted by the Daily Star, is claiming that a bid from Chelsea worth around £17.9m could be enough to convince the Italian club to sell Candreva this summer.
The Blues have been linked with a move for the 30-year-old Italian in recent days as Antonio Conte looks to further bolster his squad ahead of his second season in charge at the club.
Now, it appears that the way has been cleared for the Blues to complete a deal for Candreva as Conte looks to bring his fellow countryman to Stamford Bridge.
The same report claims that selling Candreva this summer would allow Inter Milan to keep hold of Manchester United target Ivan Perisic for next season.
Chelsea have already signed four players this summer as Conte prepares for his second campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have completed deals for Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata as the west London side gear up for a return to the Champions League next season.
