Antonio Conte ‘livid’ with Chelsea and his future is in doubt – report
Antonio Conte is not happy about Chelsea's lack of activity in the summer transfer window, say reports
Antonio Conte is “livid” with Chelsea at the club’s lack of transfer activity this summer and will seek showdown talks with the club upon his return on Monday, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is claiming that the Italian manager has become incredibly frustrated by the west London side’s lack of activity in the transfer window, with the Blues having only signed goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a free transfer from Manchester City and AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger in a £34m deal.
Chelsea were thought to be leading the race to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this summer, but the striker opted to sign for Manchester United, with the Red Devils confirming that a fee had been agreed with Everton on Saturday morning.
Conte is said to be “unhappy” about Chelsea’s failure to sign the players he wants this summer and will hold crunch talks with club officials when he reports back for pre-season training.
The same report states that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is desperate for Conte to stay at Stamford Bridge.
The story also states that Chelsea are on the lookout for attacking, defensive and midfield reinforcements this summer.
