Chelsea eye £50m double deal for their next two signings – report
Chelsea are lining up a double swoop to try and sign Ross Barkley and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, say reports
Chelsea are lining up a £50m double swoop to sign Ross Barkley and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte would like to bring both the Everton and Arsenal midfielders to Stamford Bridge this summer as the Italian gears up for his second season in charge.
The same story says that Chelsea are “long-term admirers” of Everton midfielder Barkley, whose future has been a source of speculation this summer.
The west London side are also thought to be keen on Arsenal star Oxlade-Chamberlain, who like Barkley has only one year left on his current contract.
The story claims that Conte is “desperate” to further bolster his Chelsea squad as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.
That’s despite the Blues having been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far, having already brought in Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
The story also claims that midfielder Nemanja Matic looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
