Chelsea have made a late bid to try and sign Renato Sanches on loan from Bayern Munich this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Chelsea have joined the race to try and land the 19-year-old ahead of AC Milan this summer.

The story says that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen on trying to bring the Portugal international to Stamford Bridge on a loan deal this summer and has already made an enquiry about the player.

The German club has confirmed that Conte spoke with Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti after Chelsea’s clash with the Bundesliga side in Singapore last week to discuss a potential deal for Sanches.

Bayern Munich, according to the story, are ready to let Sanches leave the club on loan this summer after his disappointing debut campaign in Germany last term.

Chelsea are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after Conte led the Blues to the Premier League title last term.

The west London side have already signed Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata so far this summer.
