Chelsea could turn to £90m striker after missing out on Lukaku – report
Chelsea could turn their attentions towards signing Andrea Belotti after missing out on Romelu Lukaku, say reports
Chelsea could turn their attentions towards signing Andrea Belotti from Torino this summer after the Blues missed out on Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Chelsea will now ponder a move for the 23-year-old Italy international, who could cost as much as £90m.
The Blues’ failure to bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge was confirmed on Saturday after Manchester United announced that they had agreed a fee with Everton to sign the Belgian forward.
News of Lukaku’s snub leaves Chelsea looking elsewhere to bring in a new striker this summer, and Torino forward Belotti could be an option, according to the Daily Mirror.
Belotti is seen as one of Europe’s top young strikers, with the Italian having netted 32 goals for Torino last season.
The same story says that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is due back at Cobham on Monday to report for pre-season training, with the Blues boss said to be “fuming” about the west London club’s failure to land Lukaku this summer.
The Italian coach is preparing his side for a return to the Champions League next season.
