Thibaut Courtois is backing Alvaro Morata to be a big hit at Chelsea next season.
The Spanish forward signed a five-year contract with the Blues earlier this month as he be came the west London side’s fourth signing of the summer.
The 24-year-old is currently with his new team-mates on Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the far east and has already made his debut for Antonio Conte’s men.
Chelsea fans will be hoping to see Morata establish himself as the main man up front for the Blues next season, with Diego Costa widely expected to leave Stamford Bridge.
And although Courtois believes that it will take some time for Morata to adapt to the rigours of English football, the goalkeeper is tipping the Spain international to be a key player for the Blues.
Courtois is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “I think he has only spent a few days with the team.
“He has to learn our way of playing but I think he came in very well.
“He was dangerous. We saw some of his ability. He is a very good striker and he will score a lot of goals for us.”
Chelsea are gearing up for a return to the Champions League next season after the Blues secured Premier League glory in Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge at the club.
The west London side missed out on the chance to win a domestic double last term, however, when they lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final.
