The French midfielder became the west London side’s second signing of the summer on Saturday when he penned a five-year contract with the Blues.
Bakayoko will be hoping to line up with N’Golo Kante in the heart of Chelsea’s midfield next season as the Blues look to defend their Premier League title.
The midfielder will join up with his new team-mates shortly as he gets to grips with life at the Premier League club.
And Bakayoko has lifted the lid on the first conversation he has already had with Conte following his arrival at the west London side.
Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Bakayoko said: “I have the ambition to play as many matches as possible, to progress as much as I can with a great coach like Antonio Conte, and then I have the objective of taking part in the World Cup at the end of the season.
“He (Conte) spoke a lot about tactics, and training, and he took the time to talk to me about my game and explain I must be serious-minded and work hard.”
It remains to be seen whether Bakayoko’s arrival at Chelsea spells the end of Nemanja Matic’s career with the Blues.
The Serbian has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, with Manchester United and Juventus touted as possible destinations.
