Chelsea face embarrassment over transfer of 22-year-old – report
Chelsea are struggling to get a deal to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco over the line, say reports
Chelsea are facing “embarrassment” in their pursuit of Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is claiming that a deal to bring the 22-year-old midfielder continues to stall despite the Blues having looked to be close to signing the Frenchman last week.
The report comes after Chelsea missed out on signing striker Romelu Lukaku, with the forward opting for a move to Manchester United ahead of a transfer back to Stamford Bridge.
The article claims that Chelsea have been “slow” in their dealings to try and sign Bakayoko from Monaco and that the French club are growing frustrated by the situation.
The report says that Bakayoko has been left “in limbo” as Chelsea continue to stall on a deal to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
The article also states that Monaco do not need to sell Bakayoko this summer.
Chelsea are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer but the Blues have been slow in conducting their transfer business.
The west London side are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after they won the Premier League last term.
