Chelsea have ‘long-standing’ interest in 26-year-old Brazil star, claims insider
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth claims Chelsea are still interested in signing Juventus defender Alex Sandro
Chelsea have a long-standing interest in Alex Sandro but Juventus are reluctant to sell the Brazilian defender, Dharmesh Sheth has claimed.
The Brazil international has been linked with a move to the Premier League champions in the summer transfer window but a deal has failed to materialise so far.
Sandro was thought to be on the brink of a switch to Stamford Bridge earlier this summer but the left-back wasn’t among the flurry of new arrivals at Stamford Bridge in July.
Antonio Conte is thought to be interested in signing the 26-year-old to improve his options at left-back despite Marcos Alonso’s impressive first season at the west London club.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth appeared to suggest that Chelsea are facing a tough assignment getting a deal to sign Sandro over the line.
“Chelsea’s other targets are long-standing,” Sheth told Sky Sports News on Friday morning.
“They’re still interested in the Juventus left-back Alex Sandro. Juve though, are reluctant sellers.
“Sky in Italy have been reporting over the past month that the Brazilian will sign an improved contract at the club.
“Sandro has featured heavily in Juve’s pre-season matches.”
