Arsenal are more likely to sell Alexis Sanchez than Chelsea sign Sergio Aguero this summer, Gabriele Marcotti has claimed.

The Gunners forward has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer after failing to agree a new contract with the north London side.

Sanchez has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal to prompt transfer speculation that the 28-year-old will leave Arsenal this summer.

The Chile star has been linked with a controversial switch to Arsenal’s title rivals Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

The Citizens are facing uncertainty of their own up front with Aguero being touted with a potential move to Premier League champions Chelsea.

Antonio Conte is thought to be eager to sign a new striker after reportedly having told Diego Costa that he is free to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Speaking to ESPN FC on Monday about whether Aguero or Sanchez were more likely to complete big summer transfers, journalist Marcotti said:

“I think it is more likely Sanchez won’t return to Arsenal than Aguero moving to Chelsea.”

Sanchez netted 24 times in 37 games in the Premier League last season but Arsenal still finished in fifth place.
