Chelsea are preparing to launch an €80m offer to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to Tancredi Palmeri.

The beINSports reporter has taken to Twitter to shed light on Chelsea’s pursuit of the Spain international in the summer transfer window.

The Premier League champions have been forced to revaluate their transfer plans after first-choice striker Romelu Lukaku completed a £75m move to Manchester United on Monday.

Chelsea are now ready to turn to the Real Madrid star to replace Diego Costa, who is expected to seal a return to Atletico Madrid after being told that he can leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Serie A expert Palmeri has taken to social media to reveal that Chelsea are readying an €80m (£70m) offer to sign the out-of-favour Real Madrid striker this summer.

Palmeri posted the following update on Twitter:

“Chelsea had contacts along whole weekend with Real Madrid for Morata. Preparing 80m€ bid.”

Chelsea won the Premier League title in their first season under Conte after Costa scored 20 times in 35 games in the English top flight last term.

The west London side lost 2-1 to bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
