Antonio Conte wants Chelsea to sign two world-class strikers – report
The Chelsea manager wants the champions to sign Alvaro Morata and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, according to reports
Antonio Conte is targeting two world-class strikers to improve Chelsea’s attack ahead of the 2017-18 season, according to reports in Italy.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that the Premier League champions are looking at the possibility of signing both Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata and Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.
The same article states that Conte is still hoping to improve his squad with five new additions ahead of Chelsea’s return to the Champions League next season after winning the Premier League title last term.
Chelsea were left frustrated in their attempts to sign Romelu Lukaku after Manchester United managed to hijack the west London side’s bid to re-sign the Belgium international.
Lukaku opted to complete a £75m move to Manchester United from Everton to force Conte to rethink his transfer plans this summer.
Morata was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer following Conte’s appointment as manager but the centre-forward secured a return to Real Madrid from Juventus.
Aubameyang is thought to have been made available this summer for a fee in the region of £60m after a prolific four-season stay at Borussia Dortmund.
