Insider claims key Chelsea star has played last game for champions
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth claims Diego Costa has played his last game for Chelsea
Diego Costa has played his last game for Premier League champions Chelsea, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Spain international was told that he is free to leave the west London club earlier this month and Costa has been linked with a return to Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.
However, los Rojiblancos are unable to make any signings until their transfer ban is lifted in January 2018, which has complicated the controversial striker’s proposed return to Spain.
Costa has also been linked with a move to AC Milan but the Chelsea striker is thought to be reluctant to move to the Serie A club with his heart set on a return to Atletico Madrid.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth confirmed that Costa has made his last appearance for Chelsea despite uncertainty about the striker’s next move.
“It’s safe to say that Diego Costa has played his last game for the club. Conte is showing everyone who’s boss with this one,” Sheth told Sky Sports News on Friday morning.
“Costa wants to go to Atletico Madrid. That move is complicated by their transfer ban, while AC Milan have spoken to Costa’s agent – the one and only Jorge Mendes.”
