Insider claims Chelsea still want proven 32-year-old striker
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth are still hoping to sign Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente
Chelsea are still in the market to sign Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Premier League champions have already signed Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata in a reported £58m deal earlier this month.
However, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is thought to be keen to sign another striker ahead of their return to the Champions League next season.
The west London side were linked with a move to sign Llorente from Swansea in the January transfer window but a deal failed to materialise.
Llorente scored 15 goals and made one assist in 32 appearances in the Premier League last term despite being in the twilight of his career.
The Blues manager worked with the Spain international during his spell in charge of the Serie A giants Juventus.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth revealed that Chelsea are still hoping to sign Llorente in the summer transfer window.
“Chelsea are still in the market for another striker,” Sheth told Sky Sports News on Wednesday.
“Swansea’s Fernando Llorente is still on their list and Antonio Conte knows him well from their time together at Juventus. He tried to sign Llorente back in January.”
Chelsea finished on top of the Premier League table in their first season under the management of Conte.
The Blues lost 2-1 to bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
