Chelsea are prepared to match Manchester City’s summer transfer splurge and are ready to offer £60m to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro, according to reports.

The Times is reporting that the Premier League champions are ready to match Manchester City’s £218m outlay on new signings in the summer transfer window so far.

The same article states that Chelsea could surpass Manchester City’s spending with Antonio Conte eyeing four more additions before the start of the 2017-18 season.

According to the same story, the Blues are still monitoring Juventus left-back Alex Sandro despite the Brazil international’s hefty price tag of £60m.

Chelsea have already added four new players to their squad in the summer transfer window ahead of a return to the Champions League next season.

Manchester City reserve goalkeeper Willy Caballero completed a free transfer to Chelsea before the Blues snapped up German defender Antonio Rudiger in a £34m deal from AS Roma.

The west London side have signed Tiemoue Bakayoko in a £39m deal from AS Monaco to bolster their defensive midfield options.

Chelsea made their fourth signing last week when Spain international Alvaro Morata made the £58m switch from Real Madrid last week.
