Chelsea make 23-year-old striker their new top transfer target – report
Chelsea are turning their attentions towards trying to sign Andrea Belotti from Torino this summer, say reports
Chelsea have made Andrea Belotti their new top transfer target after seemingly missing out on Romelu Lukaku, according to reports in Italy.
Italian outlet Mediaset Premium, as quoted by Metro, is claiming that the Blues have now set their sights on landing the 23-year-old striker from Torino this summer.
The report comes after Manchester United were widely claimed to have agreed a fee to sign Everton striker Lukaku on Thursday, even though there was no official confirmation of a deal.
The same story claims that Antonio Conte is now targeting Belotti, with Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata a potential back-up option.
However, the article also states that Belotti is unlikely to leave Turin for anything less than his apparent €100m (£87.6m) release clause this summer.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of players this summer, but the Blues have so far only completed the signing of Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a free transfer.
Conte is likely to want to significantly bolster his squad this summer as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.
