Eric Dier is keen to join Manchester United and work under Jose Mourinho, according to reports in the British media.

The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the 23-year-old Tottenham midfielder is keen to sign for the Red Devils and link up with the Portuguese coach at Old Trafford.

The same report states that Dier grew up as a Manchester United fan and could double his wages by signing for the Red Devils. He is reported to currently earn around £70,000 a week at Spurs.

The story says that Tottenham are determined to keep hold of Dier this summer but that has not put Manchester United off in their pursuit of the England midfielder.

It is claimed that the fate of Dier will now be determined by how much the Red Devils are willing to bid for the midfielder this summer.

Manchester United confirmed their second signing of the summer on Monday when they tied up a deal to bring Romelu Lukaku to Old Trafford from Everton.

Mourinho is gearing up for his second season in charge at Old Trafford following his appointment back in May last year.
