Liverpool have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Naby Keita after a senior RB Leipzig official ruled out selling the midfielder this summer, according to reports in the British media.
Sky Sports is claiming that a representative of the German club has ruled out the possibility of the Keita leaving the Bundesliga side this summer.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move to bring the 22-year-old midfielder to Anfield this summer and the same article claims that the Reds have already had three bids for the midfielder rejected.
The story reveals that Keita does have a £48m release clause in his contract but that does not come into effect until next summer.
Liverpool are on the lookout for their fourth summer signing as they prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.
The Reds finished fourth in the Premier League last term as they secured a return to Europe’s elite club competition in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge at the club.
Liverpool have signed Dominic Solanke, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson so far this summer.
