Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Liverpool are not worried about the potential challenge from Arsenal in the Premier League this season.

The Reds got the better of the Gunners of the opening day of the campaign last season when they secured a thrilling 4-3 win at The Emirates to get their campaign off to a brilliant start.

Liverpool then followed that win up with a 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Anfield in March to complete a double against Arsene Wenger’s men last term.

Klopp was reflecting on the previous season with fellow Premier League managers Frank de Boer, Tony Pulis and Craig Shakespeare.

And as he looked back on Liverpool’s opening game last season, Klopp told Sky Sports: “Last year, we played Arsenal away, and it was not that difficult!”

Liverpool will be hoping to mount a serious title challenge next season as they prepare for Klopp’s second full campaign in charge at the club.

The Reds are also gearing up for a return to the Champions League, with Arsenal having missed out on a spot in Europe’s elite club competition following their fifth-placed finish last term.
