Liverpool will make a bid to sign Christian Pulisic as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho should the playmaker join Barcelona this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is claiming that the Reds are “braced” for Coutinho to ask to leave Anfield and sign for the Spanish club this summer.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou this summer despite the Brazilian having signed a new five-year contract with the Reds back in January.

However, Liverpool have already lined up a replacement in mind, according to the same story.

The article says that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Borussia Dortmund’s 18-year-old Pulisic and that the Reds will make a move to try and sign him this summer if Coutinho does indeed leave the club.

The same story says that Barcelona are convinced that Coutinho has his heart set on a transfer to Spain this summer.

Liverpool are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after they finished fourth in the Premier League table last term.
