Jurgen Klopp sends message to Jose Mourinho about Man United
Jurgen Klopp hits back at Jose Mourinho after the Manchester United manager's comments about Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp has hit back at Jose Mourinho after the Manchester United manager claimed that Liverpool could struggle to cope with the demands of European football next season.
The Reds enjoyed the luxury of a season without the distraction of any European fixtures last term as Klopp led the Merseyside outfit to a fourth-placed finish and a return to the Champions League.
Liverpool are now preparing for a return to Europe’s elite club competition as Klopp looks to try to steer his side to glory in four competitions next term.
Manchester United manager Mourinho recently suggested that the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea could struggle with a return to European competition next season and the added fixtures it will bring.
However, Liverpool boss Klopp has quickly hit back at the Portuguese coach, insisting that he has no interest about what he has to say about his team.
Klopp is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail: “I’m not interested in what Jose Mourinho says.
“Why should I talk about Manchester United? Jose is talking about us, yes. We had a season of what Man United had the year before. I don’t know if anybody asked us how it felt (then).”
Liverpool will be hoping to make a mark in the Champions League next season as they prepare for a return to Europe’s elite club competition.
The Reds have so far signed Mohamed Salah, Dominic Solanke an Andy Robertson so far this summer.
