Liverpool will consider a transfer bid to try and sign Manuel Lanzini from West Ham this summer if Philippe Coutinho leaves Anfield, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the Reds will consider a bid for the 24-year-old Argentine if they lose their key playmaker to Barcelona this summer.
Coutinho’s future has been a relentless source of speculation this summer amid claims that Barcelona are keen on luring him to the Camp Nou.
Now, it is being claimed that Liverpool could turn towards Lanzini and make a possible bid for the West Ham star if they do indeed lose Coutinho.
However, the same article says that Liverpool would face serious resistance from West Ham United, who would be reluctant to let Lanzini leave the east London club this summer.
Liverpool are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as the Reds prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.
Jurgen Klopp has so far brought in three new players this summer – Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Dominic Solanke.
