Top 23-year-old has his heart set on signing for Liverpool – report
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has his heart set on a move to Liverpool but wants guaranteed first-team football, say reports
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has his “heart set” on signing for Liverpool from Arsenal this summer, according to reports.
Website 90min is reporting that the 23-year-old England midfielder has chosen Anfield as his preferred destination if he were to quit Arsenal this summer.
The same story says that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a “huge” admirer of the Arsenal midfielder as the German looks to further bolster his squad ahead of next season.
However, the article also states that Oxlade-Chamberlain will make it clear that his main demand is that he can be guaranteed regular playing time at any club he were to join this summer.
The midfielder’s situation has been a source of speculation this summer because he has recently entered into the final 12 months of his contract at The Emirates and is yet to pen a new deal.
Oxlade-Chamberlain found his first-team opportunities at Arsenal to be limited last season, as he was restricted to just 16 starts in the Premier League.
The midfielder scored two goals and made seven assists in the top flight last term as he helped Arsene Wenger’s men finish fifth in the top flight.
