Insider delivers update for Liverpool fans on 25-year-old star
Philippe Coutinho has agreed personal terms with Barcelona but Liverpool don't want to sell, according to Dharmesh Sheth
Philippe Coutinho has agreed personal terms with Barcelona ahead of his proposed transfer from Liverpool this summer, according to Dhamesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports News journalist has quoted reports in Spain claiming that Coutinho has already settled on terms with the La Liga giants, despite Liverpool’s reluctance to sell the player.
He also claims that Liverpool have already turned down a £70m bid for the 25-year-old playmaker from Barcelona this summer, but the Spanish side are still keen to try and lure him to Camp Nou.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Wednesday morning, Sheth said: “Barcelona are still looking for players and reports in Spain suggest Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho has agreed terms to go to the Nou Camp.
“Liverpool have already turned down a £70m offer and say Coutinho is not for sale.
“Remember, he signed a new five-year contract in January.”
Liverpool will be keen to keep hold of Coutinho as they prepare for a return to the Champions League in Jurgen Klopp’s second full season in charge at Anfield.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table under Klopp last term after initially looking like they may challenge for the top-flight title.
