Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp makes open admission about 23-year-old
Jurgen Klopp has said that Lazar Markovic could be on his way out of Liverpool this summer if the right offer arrives
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Lazar Markovic can leave Liverpool this summer for the right price.
The Serbian winger signed for the Reds from Benfica three years ago but has only made 34 appearances for the first team and was left out of the squad for the pre-season tour of Hong Kong.
Markovic has struggled to hold down a spot at Anfield and has spent loan spells at both Sporting Lisbon and Hull City in recent seasons.
And Klopp has now effectively confirmed that Markovic could be on his way out on a permanent deal this summer.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp said: “With Lazar, it’s no secret that if he finds a club then we will negotiate. It was like this last year too.
“He’s a really good player. I like him as a person.
“He’s now fit and another one who is in the best shape since I’ve known him.
“Before he had problems with his groin but now he’s good. There will be a club out there who needs him.”
Liverpool are still believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as the Reds prepare for a return to the Champions League next term.
The Merseyside outfit finished fourth in the Premier League and have so far signed Dominic Solanke, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson as Klopp prepares for his second full season at the club.
