Liverpool see new £66m bid for top 22-year-old rejected – report
Liverpool have had a fresh £66.4m bid for Naby Keita rejected by RB Leipzig, according to reports
Liverpool have had a fresh £66.4m bid for Naby Keita rejected by RB Leipzig, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that the Reds have made a new big-money bid to try and sign the 22-year-old midfielder but that their latest approach has been turned down by the German club.
The same report claims that Leipzig are “desperate” to keep the midfielder and that the club had already rejected Liverpool’s first offer of around £57m.
The story says that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has now made Keita his top target this summer as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
However, it would seem that the Merseyside outfit are facing an uphill battle in convincing the German club to sell Keita this summer.
Liverpool have made two signings so far this summer – striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and winger Mohamed Salah from Roma.
The Reds are likely to want to bring in significant reinforcement as they prepare for a return to the Champions League in Klopp’s second full season at the club.
