Liverpool are adamant that Philippe Coutinho is not for sale this summer, despite the speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona, according to reports.

ESPN is reporting that the Reds are determined to keep hold of their prized asset despite Barcelona apparently being keen on luring the 25-year-old to Camp Nou this summer.

Coutinho has been strongly touted as a possible target for Barcelona in recent weeks but the report says Liverpool remain “firm” in their stance that he is not for sale.

The same story says that manager Jurgen Klopp has held talks with Coutinho and that the player is “comfortable” at Anfield.

It is claimed in the same article that Liverpool have rejected a £72m bid for Coutinho this month from Barcelona.

And the story says that the Merseyside outfit are focused on keeping hold of the Brazilian as Klopp prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.

Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League last term in what was Klopp’s first full campaign in charge at Anfield.
