Liverpool keen to make 26-year-old their fourth signing – report
Liverpool are still interested in signing Virgil van Dijk from Southampton this summer, according to reports in the British media
Liverpool are still maintaining an interest in signing Virgil van Dijk from Southampton this summer, despite their failed pursuit of the player last month, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is claiming that the Reds are set to continue with a “delicate” pursuit of the defender as Jurgen Klopp looks to further strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
Liverpool were heavily linked with a move to sign the Dutch star last month but the Merseyside outfit were forced to drop their interest in the player after Southampton accused them of an alleged illegal approach.
However, Liverpool continue to be linked with a bid to land the 26-year-old Netherlands international and the report in the Daily Mirror suggests that the Reds will still try and sign the defender before the summer is out.
The same story also highlights RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita as Liverpool’s other main transfer target this summer as Klopp prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next term.
Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League last term as they secured a return to Europe’s elite club competition.
