Mohamed Salah will prove to be a great signing for Liverpool, according to former striker Emile Heskey.

The Reds tied up a deal to bring the winger to Anfield from Roma earlier this summer as Jurgen Klopp moved quickly to bolster his attacking options at Anfield ahead of his second full season in charge at the club.

Liverpool were in need of attacking reinforcements over the summer as Klopp prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season following their fourth-placed finish last term.

Salah previously failed to impress during his spell with Chelsea a few years ago before being sold to Roma on a permanent deal.

However, former Reds striker Heskey reckons that Salah is a very exciting player and is tipping the winger to have a positive impact at Anfield after having developed his game at Roma.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Heskey said: “Salah is very very exciting. He didn’t quite get the opportunity he could have done at Chelsea, but he went to Roma and did exceptionally.

“It’ll be interesting to see how he fits into the dynamics because going forward, Liverpool look very good.”

Liverpool will be hoping to mount a serious Premier League title challenge next season under Klopp after they struggled to keep pace with the leaders in the second half of last term.
