Jurgen Klopp has moved to reassure Liverpool supporters about his summer transfer plans.
The Merseyside outfit were 4-0 winners against local rivals Tranmere Rovers in their first pre-season friendly on Wednesday night.
Klopp handed one of his Liverpool summer signings his first appearance for the club after Dominic Solanke made a second-half cameo.
The England Under-20 international moved to Liverpool from Premier League champions Chelsea in a free transfer earlier this month.
The Liverpool manager broke the club’s transfer record in July after the Reds wrapped up a £36.7m deal for Egypt international Mohamed Salah from AS Roma.
Klopp has been linked with a host of players in the 2017 summer transfer window so far, but has only managed to get two deals over the line.
Naturally, some ex-Liverpool players are getting worried about the lack of deals ahead of their return to the Champions League next season.
Speaking at his post-match media conference about Liverpool’s summer transfer plans, Klopp gave the club’s fans some insight into the work going on behind the scenes.
“We cannot only buy players because other teams buy players – we do our business as well as we can do it and we are completely in it,” Klopp said.
“We are convinced about the way we are going, so that’s all. I’m not nervous, maybe that’s the right message.”
