Journalist claims Liverpool will sign 22-year-old with £72m offer
Liverpool will could sign Naby Keita with a £72m offer for the RB Leipzig midfielder, according to reporter Amadou Makadji
Liverpool will finally end RB Leipzig’s resistance with a £72m offer for Naby Keita, according to reporter Amadou Makadji.
The Foot224 journalist, as quoted by the Daily Express, took to Twitter on Saturday to provide the latest update on Liverpool’s pursuit of the dynamic midfielder.
Liverpool have already failed with two bids to sign the Guinea international in the summer transfer window as RB Leipzig remain adamant that the 22-year-old won’t be sold this summer.
However, Makadji claimed that Liverpool are set to come back with a third offer to sign the African star from the Bundesliga runners-up ahead of the 2017-18 season.
The African reporter suggested that RB Leipzig would struggle to turn down a £72m offer from the Premier League side for the box-to-box midfielder.
“After having rejected 2 offers from Liverpool, Leipzig will struggle to resist a third offer of €80m (£72m), having too much choice,” Makadji wrote on Twitter.
“In the face of the determination of the Reds and Naby to leave, the German club is about to give. Next week will be decisive.”
Liverpool completed their third summer signing last week after Scottish defender Andy Robertson completed an £8m switch from relegated Hull City.
The Reds have already signed Egypt and Roma winger Mohamed Salah in a club-record deal this summer, while Dominic Solanke swapped Chelsea for Liverpool.
