Jurgen Klopp wants this Liverpool signing above all other summer targets – report
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has his heart set on signing RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, according to reports in England
Jurgen Klopp wants Liverpool to sign Naby Keita ahead of all his other summer targets despite the Reds failing with a new £66m bid for RB Leipzig star, according to reports in England.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Liverpool have seen a new improved offer of £66m turned down by the Bundesliga runners-up despite Keita’s rumoured price tag of £70m.
The same story reveals that Liverpool made an initial bid of £57m for the versatile 22-year-old midfielder but the German club rejected the offer and insisted the Guinea international was not for sale.
Liverpool fans who have already seen the club issue an embarrassing statement over their pursuit Southampton’s Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk this summer.
Worryingly for Reds supporters, the Daily Mail article reveals that RB Leipzig are growing increasingly frustrated with Liverpool’s persistence despite having been told that the box-to-box midfielder is not for sale at any price.
Liverpool signed Egypt international Mohamed Salah in a club-record £36.7m deal from AS Roma earlier this month.
England Under-20 international Dominic Solanke has also swapped Chelsea for Liverpool.
