Jurgen Klopp still wants Liverpool to complete club-record deal for 22-year-old star – report
The Liverpool manager isn't giving up hope of signing Naby Keita from RB Leipzig this summer, according to reports
Liverpool aren’t giving up on the prospect of signing RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, according to reports in England.
The Gambling Times is reporting that Liverpool are still hoping to conclude a deal to sign the Guinea international in the summer transfer window.
The same story states that the Reds boss hasn’t been deterred in the race to sign the 22-year-old despite RB Leipzig rejecting an offer in the region of £60m.
According to the article, Keita has been trying to convince the Bundesliga runners-up to sell him to the Premier League side.
The box-to-box midfielder was one of the standout stars in the German top flight last season following his £12.75m move to RB Leipzig from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.
Keita scored eight goals and made seven assists in 31 appearances in the Bundesliga last term despite competing in his first season in German top flight.
Liverpool have already smashed their transfer record this summer after signing Egypt international Mohamed Salah in a £36.7m deal from AS Roma.
