Possible Liverpool boost as club send scouts to find replacement for 22-year-old – report
RB Leipzig are sending scouts to find a replacement for Liverpool target Naby Keita, according to reports in Germany
RB Leipzig have sent scouts to look for Naby Keita’s replacement as the Liverpool target looks unmotivated in training, according to reports in Germany.
Bild, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick is sending scouts out to unearth Keita’s successor after becoming concerned about the midfielder’s work ethic in training.
Liverpool have been linked with a move to sign the 22-year-old African star in the summer transfer window but a deal has failed to materialise so far.
Indeed, the Merseyside outfit have reportedly failed with two bids to sign the Guinea international despite offering club-record fees for the versatile midfielder.
Keita scored eight goals and made seven assists in his first season in Bundesliga following a £6.75m switch from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg last summer.
Liverpool have already signed AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah, England Under-20 international Dominic Solanke and Hull City left-back Andy Robertson.
The Reds finished in fourth place in their first full season under Klopp’s management to secure a return to the Champions League next season.
