Top 26-year-old winger is Arsenal’s second choice for next signing – report
Arsenal are aiming to sign Thomas Lemar ahead of Riyad Mahrez this summer, according to reports
Riyad Mahrez is behind Thomas Lemar on Arsene Wenger’s list in Arsenal’s search for their third summer signing, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
Tribal Football is reporting that Wenger is keen on signing the 21-year-old Lemar ahead of Leicester winger Mahrez this summer.
The same story says that Monaco are playing “hardball” on Lemar and that Arsenal “leaked” the story of Mahrez being a top target to the media.
The article also states that Lemar is Wenger’s preferred option – ahead of Mahrez – as he looks to add to his attacking options at The Emirates this summer.
It is also claimed that West Ham United have made an enquiry about the possibility of signing striker Lucas Perez this summer from the Gunners.
Arsenal completed their second signing of the summer last week when the Gunners confirmed a deal to sign forward Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon on Wednesday afternoon.
The north London side will be hoping to challenge for the Premier League title next season after finishing in a disappointing fifth place last term.
