Ander Herrera has insisted that he is focused on Manchester United and is paying no attention to the speculation about his future.

The Spain international has been touted as a possible target for Barcelona this summer as the Spanish club ponder bolstering their midfield options ahead of next season.

However, Herrera played a key role for Manchester United last season in Jose Mourinho’s first campaign in charge and the Red Devils are likely to want to tie him down to a new contract.

And Herrera has now responded directly to the reports linking him with a move to Barcelona by insisting that he is happy at Old Trafford.

Herrera told Spanish newspaper AS: “There is nothing certain about Barcelona because I am very happy at United.

“I feel valued and focused here.”

Manchester United are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after the Red Devils finished sixth but won the Europa League last term.

The Red Devils also won the EFL Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.
